1925 Model P

Hi all,
this is my grandad arthur on his triumph model p with sidecar (side valve, 494 cc, 4 strokes, 3 speed). the pic was probably taken in 1925 or 26 when he was twenty. the plate says Croydon (near London).

he owned a lot of bikes in his life, he used to race too. this is the only pic i have

in loving memory

pretty cool, looks like a happy guy. notice that AH-OOGA bulb horn, tiny electric (or acetylene?) light and what's probably part of a dusty dirt road... makes me think twice complaining about our modern pip-squeak electric horn and potholes. thanks man!

Ok, it's not a Triumph, but here's my old Norton - when I used to be a marine electronic engineer, I found this in pieces at the back of shed. built into a cliff in Valetta, Malta. It was totally stripped down, in pieces, and had been shot to bits - bullet holes in the tank and other tinware. The ship I was working on was going to Gravesend(UK) after Valetta, so I asked the oldman (Captain) if I could dump the scrap on deck, cover it with a tarp and pick it up in England. Not a problem, drove down a couple of weeks later, picked it up, and spent a couple of years, on and off rebuilding it. A 1937, ex RAF Malta, Norton 16H.
