T140 Side Panel Grommet Part 82-6673?

Hi Guys.

My understanding is that the rear of each original T140V metal side panel is fixed onto a metal spike which is welded to the OIF frame down tubes.

The space between the spike and the panel being taken up using rubber grommets, one on each panel (Part 82-6673).

I'm planning to replace the stock side panels with retro Side Covers.

The rear fixing of these retro covers is to the same point (metal spikes which are welded to the OIF frame) as the stock covers.

My question is, are the retro side covers moulded with the same size holes as the stock covers, and do they utilise the same grommets?

Am already across the retro cover front fixings (nuts/bolts/distance spacers), although I think care needs to be taken to include rubber washers to isolate the covers from destructive vibration.

Thanks.

I'd say that it's a question to ask the sidepanel supplier?

I would hope that quality suppliers give a complete kit, and possibly cheapo ones are more diy

It wouldn't harm to order a pair of standard grommets to avoid disappointment at minimal cost

Thanks Dave.

I came across a manufacturer of these side panels who doesn't supply the fixing hardware, and could not answer my questions.

I agree with your suggestion and have ordered a couple of the grommets.

They're also used to suspend the battery box so I can use them there if it turns out they're not suitable for the side covers.

Regarding the installation kits for retro side covers.
I'm learning that the hardware offered varies between suppliers.

For the front of the covers, some provide nut/bolt/distance piece, while others supply a spring.

I figured, for 1 Pound, I'll go with the genuine parts in this case.
