I am new to this website but I see that many people are inquiring about good Triumph Dealers.

I have been going to Werth's Triumph Sales
in Plainfield Illinois for parts and service for years.
The owners name is Harold.

He has been an exclusive Triumph Dealer since 1963.
He started in Joliet and has since moved to Plainfield.

I go there often. He is and "old fashion" dealer.
No boutique. Doesn't work on the "New" Triumphs
Has a pretty good supply of parts. What is doesn't have he will order and most of the time you get it in a week or less.
Does everything on Triumph's and does some work on BSA's. Very knowledgeable!!!

I see him do lots of complete overhauls; Twins and triples.

Since he is in business I will supply the address and telephone number for anyone interested.

I've heard of this fellow for years, but never met. He has very high praise from the vintage racers I mess around with. Good info, thanks DR!

I know that in the late 1960's and early 1970's he was very involved with the AMA flat track circuit. He pitted for various "hot shoes".
I remember meeting the likes of Jim Odem, Don Castro, Jim Rice, Dave Aldana, Gary Scott, Mark Brelsford, Mert Lawwill, Alan Kenyon, and Dave Hanson while hanging around his Triumph shop.

I spoke with Harold at length (over an hour) about old Triumphs and I agree, he is a very knowledgable guy. I liked him a lot.
But, there is something weird going on in this post. He seemed to have mentioned that his son had the EXACT same bikes in his collection as you have.
Man, that is some coincidence.
What are the chances of 2 people in the Chicago area both having 1970 T120RT's?
Deja vu all over again?
Gotta go, I'm having flash backs.

TriumphDR,

This is getting more strange by the post.
First, you failed to mention that this high recommendation was for your father. Then, when I called you on it, you change your bike listing instead of admitting you're related.
I sincerely hope you conduct business in a more straight forward manner, because this doesn't look good for either one of you.
Just my opinion.

I've had nothing but GREAT work come from Werths!
They rebuilt my dads 78 Bonneville 5 years ago. It's run flawlessly!
When he went in to talk to Harrold about doing the work, he remembered the bike. He sold it originally in 79! WOW! He had the original paperwork and knew all the info on the original owner.
Very knowledgable guys. Harrold and his son.
I was there yesterday dropping off my BSA Hornet engine. I brought it there because I want it done by a shop that will build me a motor I can use for a long time.
I saw a restoration that they had just finished on one of the benches. It was a 70 Bonneville. It looked PERFECT!
Just thought I'd try to clear up any miss understanding about Werths.
Mark
-Not related to Werths.
-Just a very satisfied customer.
