What do you think of this 1978 on craigslist?

http://littlerock.craigslist.org/mcy/614850254.html

He had it listed once before at $4k. Looks pretty good in the pictures but I haven't kept up with prices. Is that reasonable for a non-runner?

If that was the bike I was looking at, I'd check the prices on E-Bay Motors for that year and around that year. Make sure the numbers match on the engine, frame and title...if that is important to you. It seems in reasonable shape. Depends if you have some money to put into it and enjoy working on it. Good luck!

For 4k it had better run VERY well and be a complete bike ,not a bitsa.
I 'm not sure what to pay for a non runner..it could be a minor problem or a major one(s).

OK, I'm curious, how in the heck can you see it's a T140 with a TR7 head??? Especially when the sidecover says "Tiger 750." Can you read the engine numbers on the pics?

What huge difference between 1978 and 1979 engines give the year away?

I think that's the 79' style instrument console.
