Can someone help me out with part numbers

Im trying to rebuild the calipers for a 79 bonniville 750 and I need to replace the line that goes to the back break. THe rubber is all cracked on the hose that is currently on there, the shielding underneith still looks good but better safe than scraping myself off the road. Plus I've never taken apart a caliper before I had it explained to me. I need to blow it clean. And i need to take it apart too. But i really dont know to much about the part itself what i should be concentrating on. Helpfull input would be great. My take it to the this place in town that well known for break rebuilding. Thanks in advance.

I don't know where you are, but when I did the same, I found brake lines of suitable length etc in a local automotive factors.

If you get a new rubber hose it will have a stripe printed along it's length. The rubber hose should be assembled such that the stripe is straight and thus the hose is not twisted.

I bought some Goodridge hose & fittings and made my own.

Yeah I may end up doing just that. I have to clean out the entire caliper. It's a nasty, rusty, caked with brake fluid mess, and there is a brake specialist here in town im gonna stop by and see if he can just do the whole rebuild for me. I know im gonna have to get my brake pads from a supplyer but thats no biggy.

I was told - but haven't checked myself, that the brake pads are the same as those on an old mk2 mini cooper. Might be worth a look.

Got my brake pads, and the brake line from Klemphs in MN. Everyplace i went to here in town act like triumph is some kind of crazy thing. I had one place walk away from the counter and just not come back when I asked if they could match up my brake line, they kid just dissapeared into the parts room and never come back. Muskegon is a small town but come on it's a Triumph, we were a huge bike town at one time. We got one of the best hill climbs around.

I've got a '74 (ish) T140V - I have a disc front and comical rear. You'll read all sorts of facts, opinions and facts on this (and other) forums, but, the one bit of advice that I got years ago, is change your rubber flexi hoses for stainless braided ones - you will not believe what difference it makes to your brakes. If you take your flexi hoses to any half decent motor factor they'll swap them out for you.
