tools needed for engine teardown...???

I need to put new gaskets on my '72 T100. She leaks badly from the bottom of the clyinder and between the cylinder and head. Any special tools needed for the job?

If you're just doing a top end, then you don't need any special tools over and above things like piston slippers.
Make sure you mark the position of each pushrod so they can go back in the same place.
Try not to drop the tappets out of the block also, put a rubber band on them.
Take note of what O rings and washers etc. go on the pushrod tubes and their positions. It's easy to get confused on rebuilds when there are several years worth of pushrod gaskets and rubber rings supplied in the 'set'.

Where is the best place to get a quality gasket set?
I was considering "british only"

They are "semi retired" and have a minimum order.

I'd check out British Cycle Supply.

I hat ordering from that **** catalog. I'll have to call and see if they have an aftermarket set available.

So I am thinking about doing this job. I know what pushrods are and tappets and such. I was just anxious about pulling everything off, trying to picture what to look for.

I am just thinking out loud now.
