Jacks and lifts

Any one got some simple ideas of construction of either mobile or stationery bike jacks or bike liftes?

Along with lots of other cool vintage motorcycle stuff, Michael Moore has a set of plans for a simple but very slick plywood lift / stand on his website. Here's the link. www.eurospares.com/bikestnd.htm

drawings available from a guy on eBay;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTORCYCLE-LIFT-WORKBENCH-PLANS_W0QQitemZ230227180898QQihZ013QQcategoryZ2564 4QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Presumably he could e-mail the drawings to you.

I would be wary of anything with a pivoting ramp, I have a motorcycle trailer that has a pivoting ramp and its a (loading / unloading) accident waiting to happen. There comes a point where you will be trying to hold the bike upright, trying to stop it rolling back down the ramp, and steadying it until the ramp pivots to level. Not fun.

I made a elevating workbench about 18 months ago using some seconhand steel and a trolley jack. I have the plans in a pdf format if you would like a copy.. You can email me direct at gliddonk@ntn.newsltd.com.au
