First timer here. The pistons don't seem to be beat up and the rods look okay (not chewed up). Thoughts, opinons?

Mecchanica

Light crank, circa 66-68 and the rods have been heated. I'd replace the rod small end bearings, pin fit, and buff the rods to remove stress raisers. Clean the sludge trap. New rod bearings. As a minimum.

That thing sure looks roughed up.

You need to split those cases, no matter what.

Figure out the "macro" setting on your camera, and take lots of pix as you go.
