Well, since you're offering to make good how about sending me back my original tank badges. That would be a nice start.

Hey everyone. I'm new here on the board. I found it while searching for information on Mike Wambold. I sent him a complete set of "sheetmetal" as he calls it to him probably anywhere from 3-4 years ago. After the first e-mail requesting pictures of the progress, he gave me the excuse that his mother-in-law had passed away and he was all tied up. I told him it was fine, expecting that when he got some time (10 Minutes or so) that he would send the pictures I requested. This was on 2/22/06. On 8/21/06 I emailed him once again asking for an update on the progress and some pictures. This time he did not respond to me. Over a year later I sent another email requesting the same as before, again with no response.

Then on 1/19/08, he decides to email me out of the blue and requesting all of my information, saying that he was finishing up on the whole job. There was never even any type of quote on the price before hand. This is when he also told me that my tank was no good (as I see he has told many of you also).

This was the price list he sent me the next day..
FUEL TANK = 650.00
FILL NECK SILVER SOLDER = 65.00
FUEL TANK CHEM. STRIP = 130.00
FUEL TANK FRONT MOUNTS REMOVE AND REPLACE = 280.00
FUEL TANK SEALING KIT = 185.00
FRONT FENDER WITH DENT REMOVE AND FRONT TO BACK STRAITENING = 385.00
REAR FENDER WELD HOLES FIX DENTS RE- ALIGNMENT AND REMOVE AND REPLACE BACK LIP=455.00
OIL TANK REPAIR TOP AND BOTTOM MOUNTING LUGS = 135.00
CHEM. STRIP OIL TANK = 45.00
OIL TANK PAINT AND DECALS = 235.00
REPLACE SIDE COVER = 95.00
SIDE COVER PAINT AND DECALS = 220.00
SHIPPING WITH HEAVY INS. 85.00

He also said he could get me a "nice used tank dent and rust free for = 375.00"

Now yesterday he emails me telling me "THISIS MY LAST TRY IF I GET NO REPLY YOU LEAVE ME NO OTHER WAY BUT TO GIVE YOU 60 DAYS TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY OR YOUR PARTS WILL BE SOLD OFF TO COVER YOUR BILL MIKE".
He seems to be a little impatient for someone who did not have contact with me for about 2 years?
Now today he has also said that he made a non paying customer order at the district magistrate office and "has it ready to go into effect at anytime".

This whole ordeal would never have came up had he sent me the pictures I requested, and responded to me. I do not think it would have been to hard for him to give me a quote before the job would it?

If any of you are thinking about taking him to the proper authority's I would be more than happy to back you up/ help out.
Is there anything you guys would recommend me doing at this point?

Thank You
i will strip yor parts and gladly send them back no trouble you owe me nothing send me an address

Not sure where everyone else went, so I'll go first i reckon. No one especially myself has said you did a crap job. On the contrary I have said over and over what a great paintjob i recieved - when I finally recieved it after much time and headache. No one has stated anything but their own experience with you and unfortunately they have all been pretty much negative. My complaint was the lack of professionalism you displayed while being paid a premium price for your services. I had to literally bug you to the point of pissing you off to get you to even start on my parts. And while I understand you were having personal problems you were still in possession of my parts and performing a service for a lot of money. I understand that quality takes time but not years. When I spoke with you initially you quoted me two months MAX. not 18 months. Like I said, I did recieve great parts back but to me it was not worth the hassle. Like I also said I never got back the tank badges either. I'm riding around with crap made in china because the ones I lost are so **** expensive to replace. Do you remember the stuff you did about a year and a half ago for a '69 T-100R? Green ansd Silver? I f you do and want to send my badges back send them to 831 East Windsor Avenue Unit 8 Elkhart Indiana 46514
