How much to sell for?

I'm considering selling my 73 Tiger 750 in order to buy something new.

I've been using this as my daily commuter for the last year and a half but find myself needing more reliable transportation.

11000 miles. Clean title. It has a new Boyer and a new carb (as well as some minor misc stuff seals, gaskets, etc.). I've had it serviced regularly. Directionals need to be wired. Forks are leaking oil. Clutch needs to be adjusted. Speedo needs a rebuild. Needs a new brake pad. It's currently with a mechanic who will be doing all this work but I may pull it and sell instead.

I'm curious to know roughly what it would be worth if sold as a 'project' bike.

Thanks.

I dont know you money situation or what your lookin to buy. That is one nice lookin bike you have and not one I would let go. Buy something else learn to do your own servicing and keep it as a back up "toy" Nice almost stock Tigers are not that easy to find.

Thanks for the response. It is a nice looking bike. My money situation is one that will allow me to have one vehicle and no back up toy. I can't do my own servicing (for various reasons including but not limited to space, lack of knowledge and laziness) and I don't have the money to keep paying other people. It's a great bike for someone that will appreciate it but at this point in life it's simply not for me. I need reliable daily transportation rather than a hobby and right now it's a hobby and I don't have the cash to make it reliable transportation.

I'll probably sell it and regret it though and kick myself later for being an idiot.

I will not touch the value question. You do what you have to do in life as you have to do it NO regrets. By the way you cannot be the forum idiot as Mr Ballard has claimed that and I am the forum JD. What you have is NOT Project Bike it is a 35 year old motorcyle
in decent shape (IMO) go for every penny you can get.

What I need to do is put the receipts away and sleep on it. I think I'm just having a little bit of 'sticker shock' plus it's back in the shop again.

It's worth about $325.00. I'll give you $350.00 and pay the shipping.

Actually, just from the look of it, and what you describe as it's current situation, you should be able to get a decent Bribike mechanic to have it running right for a few hundred bucks; you can easily get $3500 for it as-is, $5,000 - $6,500 with the fixes done, depending on whether you get impatient or wait for the right buyer who will be a guy with the itch as soon as the average daily temperature gets above 60F (a couple of months).

If you sell it, you will absolutely kick yourself on a regular basis.
Everytime you hear a classic Triumph twin go past.
Whenever you think back to the 'soul' of your Tiger when riding a bland japmachine.

This is where the sticker shock comes in...it's cost me almost $9000 so far (between initial cost and repair work) and sometimes doesn't even make it out of the driveway. I'm hoping these last few fixes will be it for a while though I know 6 months from now if I do keep it I'll be dumping more money into it.

That aside I still can't picture myself on a Kawayamazuki...They're like furniture. My Tiger is like family. Frustrates the hell out of me sometimes but I still love it. Though being able to ride with my friends on the weekends knowing I'll make it both out of the driveway and back home would be a nice feeling.

My wife (who has been pushing me real, real hard to sell it for almost a year now and actually started this whole thing) actually suggested last night that I wait it out. I'm still trying to figure that one out...women...

If you were to watch all through "Last of the Summer wine" It might give you a clue
