TR6 vs Bonnie fuel capacity

Does anyone know if the fuel tanks were the same for the '67-'69 TR6 and Bonnie? Paint is different of course, but are the underlying tanks the same?

If I recall correctly, home market tanks were 4 gallons, US TR6 tanks were 3.5; Bonnies and the competition bikes had the famous 2.5 gallon tank most often called the "Bonneville tank".

And if I am recalling incorrectly, I am sure someone will be along shortly to straighten it out.

I could never figure out why the UK bikes had the 3 1/4 gallon (imp) tank and the Americans with their vastly bigger country preferred the little tanks..

TR6 has a bigger tank, The Bonnie has a slim tank.
At least for US models. I have a UK model TR6 which has an even bigger tank, although it's not a huge difference.

My 66's and 68 T120 Bonnevilles have 2.5 gallon tanks; TR6s have 3.5 gallon tanks in the USA.. 100 miles on my old bikes and you are pushing :>))

The guys who toured used the big TR tank, the guys who were drag racing from light to light and doing doughnuts in the bar parking lot (that would be most of us) found that the small tank was plenty.
