If you're still using the factory caps with the spring locks on the top, just make sure that the spring locks are a good tight fit into the serrations on the caps. Tighten them up good and they should stay put. Hope this helps: Jim

How'd you know I was using the fiber washers? The springs are tight, but weren't when I 1st put them on. I'll try o-rings.

Thanks

As Mecchanica says use rubber 'O' rings. However don't use thick ones and don't over tighten them. Usually only the inlet ones will leak oil.

As a tip, before you build the rocker box, I always make sure all the faces are flat, including the inspection hole faces, using the glass and emery method, but I always use the rubber o ring's as already mentioned. Take care in making sure that the spring retainers are actually retaining the caps with the indent firmly pushing into the cap, not as I've often seen, just floating in the air retaining only themselves!!

Because they're leaking. Ask me how I know.
