Picking up 3 T20s tomorrow!!!

Well, I finally made a move on some vintage iron...

Tomorrow, I'm picking up 3 T20 Tiger Cubs/Terriers, a 1955, 1961 and 1962.

Sorry for the teaser, I'll post pics and stuff when I get the bikes home tomorrow.

Any T20 experts out there? Advice? Parts suppliers? Reccomendations?

All feedback is greatly appreciated...

Here are some of the pictures of the best one:

I think this one will be used for canibalization:

I'm VERY jealous !! I'd like to fix one of these up, it'd be a lot of fun. I'm amazed at how many of these things turn up after all these years. Good luck ! & post lots of pictures...

Thanks man!!!

I consider myself very fortunate to have found a 55 with matching numbers. Most of the old bikes I see these days are mismatch frame, engine.

Incidently, I want to keep this bike completely original. Usually, on cars, you can tell everything about the car from the VIN. What can I determine from the frame number? Is there a database that says what the bike was originally (ie, what color it was, etc)?

Thanks for the advice!

The one thing that I really need right now is a triple clamp for the 55. But if the clamps are the same on the rest of the bikes, then I can get away with using the one from the orange bike.

Anyone know? Did the clamps change at all throughout the years?

Hi Fivehundo, good looking projects! The yokes you need are the same for the Terrier and Cub, Part # H828 (btm yoke) and H837 (top yoke). The top yoke remained the same for the std T20 for a long time and there should be plenty around. The btm yoke number went over to H1231 and while I think it's a straight swap, I'm not 100% sure?
Never ridden a plunger Cub, looks like fun. There is a place where you can get all the information on your Cubs, build date and dispatch record from the factory ledgers. No colour records were kept for specific bikes only year by year and model by model.
PM me and I'll point you in the right direction.
Roy.

Good idea to buy the book The Tiger Cub Bible by Mike Estall : ISBN-10: 1904788092 which gives you a great start.

I ordered "The Bible" yesterday as well as the haynes manual. They should be at my place by Thursday.
