Hey Bud-
Sorry to be the bearer of the bad, but you got hosed. Big time. No doubt. However, since you're close to my Sister's house, I'll send her over with a van a 500 to bail you out of this horrible situation. I know I'll probably loose a little on it but what's a few beans among friends?

Now... the REST of the story.........

Hell yeah it's worth a bean! Try not to laugh too hard when you think of how you skint the fellow you got it from! Congratulations, it looks like a REALLY good 'un!

How about I give you $2000 and you can double your money?
I'll take that basket case off your hands and you will look like a hero to the Mrs.
Great score!

I don' think I like that center stand. Had a hell of a time getting it up on it and then getting it down. What is the trick? Is there such a thing as a regular stand?

There would originally have been a side stand, but it's not uncommon to have the tab break off because people try kickstarting the bike while on the sidestand. Big no-no. The tab would have been on the left frame tube just below the front of the primary case.
To use the center stand, face the bike, put your right hand under the rear frame rail, under the seat, your right foot on the stand, your left hand on the handlebar....this will be harder with those bars you have. Then you rock your weight from your left foot to your right while pushing down with your right leg, lifting and pulling the bike to the rear with your right hand, and steadying and pulling rearward with your left hand. It's about inertia and timing, not brute strength.

Pulled gas tank and carbs today. Carbs were stuck. Will need a kit for these two. The only numbers I could find was w4 199 and 200. Where can I order kits?

The numbers on the Left side downtube and engine would indicate the year. What you have is whatever you put into it. The primary cover is 68 or later. Looks like an excelent original. As far as the center stand, If your back is anything like mine, I usually ride into a gas station and wait(not long) for a "hey, coolbike, man" and ask that person to help pull it up! Works everytime.
At home i ride the rear whell ont a 2x4 board. That helps elevate enough for me to 'pull er up.
