According to classic bike mag september (they did a great article on all the Bonnie models from '59-'72) the '68 engine/frame numbers were from DU66246 but the '68 had dual pancake airfilters. from the pics in the mag it looks more like a '63 model engine engine frame numbers from DU101.

It has to be a '66 or '67 because if you look at the first engine pic, which shows the left side, the tacho drive is from a right angle gearbox drive, driven by the exhaust camshaft. This was introduced in '66. Previously the drive was driven directly from the end of the exhaust camshaft.
The thing about these old Triumph engines is that so many of the parts are interchangeable that all I am saying is that the crankcase is '66 or '67.

I didnt spot that and you are correct, it may well be that there just are no air filters fitted.

1966 was also the first year the offside front spokes were laced to the flange.

do we know what carbs are fitted?
