69 Triumph Daytona 500/Please Help

I just picked up a (69)daytona 500, at least that's what I'm told. Bike has 8052 miles on it. It has sat for 30 years covered in a garage. Bike has compression, but i don't want to start until all fluids and fuel are replaced. Put new battery in and seems to blow main fuse. Popping sound seems to come from headlamp. Opened and is filled with spagetti, and relay is taped and just laying in cover. Where do i start? Not sure what something like this is worth, or worth getting on the road.I am in Lancaster,PA. Thanks in Advance! Eric bmwe30is@comcast.net

also you state you were told the bike is a 69( no title?)
where do you start?

1 fiqure out what you got
a. post the first part of the VIN number (frame & engine should be the same)
b. post a picture so we can see what you got j

2 order a shop & parts books for the bike

can you give a few more numbers 69 T100R (Daytona) started with T100R H and a numeric series(first two should work). I agree with KW Jams any Triumph is worth getting on the road again.

You say you are an AMA Field Rep. I am an AMA Life member who owns a 1970 T120RT the AMA supplied me and another RT owner with about 40 VIN numbers of the 204 RT's produced. In the past I asked for a list of the 204 VIN numbers and was told NO. I was told have the owner contact the AMA and they would verify the VIN number. I have been now told by the AMA the records have been destroyed
WHY? Would the AMA have done the same thing if Harley had been involved? I talked to the nice lady at the AMA booth at the Chicago New Bike Show last winter. She promised some one would contact me I AM STILL WAITING. Anyone who spends therre money on AMA membership is wasting their money. By the way it took almost 2years to get a responce to my first letter. If you want my AMA numer hit me with a PM

T100R the "R" was used for the US market showing it was a road bike.
The "H" prefix plus a number was used from 1964 to 1968. 1969 models had a two letter ie HC....... the first letter being the month code A for Jan B for Feb etc the second being the year c- aug 1968-july 1969 D-Aug 1969-July 1970.
The August to July thing was due to the UK summer starting at that time that was when Triumph released their new models.

Hope that makes sense if you can find the rest of the numbers it will be clearer

All that aside any old Triumph is worth the time and effort

Cheers

Early 69 T100's had a designation of H(example T100R Hxxxxx)
date code started with XC 06279 on Oct 12,1968.
info is from JR Nelsons book Triumph Tiger 100 and Daytona

Sorry that the AMA failed to meet your needs.
Not sure what those needs are myself.
Do you want the AMA to provide you with list of who owns RT's and if they don't that means they favor Harley???

That nice lady in Chicago was probably a Field Rep like myself that can only point you in the direction to find your answer ---> http://www.amadirectlink.com/email.asp

Good luck, and thanks for your lifetime support which I am certain that you did not waste your money.
