67 t100R oil blowback tube

I am the new owner of a rather nice 67 T100R. The bike is clean, looks as though its been well cared for, runs like a watch. The blowback tube runs up to the rear fender. I notice that it does leak a little oil from the blowback tube while riding after getting hot. Maybe one drop every 10 seconds or so. Is this normal for the Triumphs? I am new to the Triumphs but have been a BMW owner for about 5 years......Hondas before that.

The last Honda I had was a 75 CL350 and it would "spit" a little out the tube. The BMW blows it back into one of the carbs.

I know the British bikes have their quirks. I bought it to tinker with........the BMW never needs anything but air in the tires on occasion and I'm through customizing it.

another question about oil level

How much oil goes into the oil tank? I dont see any line or dipstick. It is currently almost full.....about 1/2 inch from the top.

You may have too much oil in the tank. You should be able to see the oil returning to the tank in a small stream while you are holding the revs at about 2,000, from roughly the 2:00 o'clock position while looking into the tank through the filler. If you don't see the stream, take out a bit of the oil; you can run extra oil in the tank for the hot weather, but the return must not be covered. You should be able to buy a cap with the dipstick on it, as came from the factory.

Sometimes, you can have too much of a good thing: Jim
