blueskystuff now = histylestuff now = vintagesparesmidwest

I noticed a new Brit Bike parts seller on ebay.

And I noticed blueskystuff's listings are all gone, histylestuff's listings are all new, written the same way, one feedback already mutually withdrawn.

But its a question, not a statement, are they the same?

I suppose the only way to know for sure is to buy something, or hear from someone that's bought something. Anyone have any experience with histylestuff?

Too similar?

Could be the same guy Villa Park & Lombard are next to each other.
The way pictures are shown it does look like the same person.

HOWEVER

it also could be a motorcyle shop(MCC maybe?) or a private party in Villa Park starting to sell on EBay (maybe/maybe not).

until you know the two are the same person I think your post is a little out of line.

Not everyone on EBay in Illinois is less than honorable

There is no Easter Bunny.

There is no Santa Claus.

Those "duplicate" e-bay sales are purely coincidental.

2 out of 3 ain't bad.

1 Everybody knows there is no Easter Bunny. He was run over years ago by a garbage truck. Now its the Easter Frog but he still does the Hippity Hop thingy

2 WHAT YOU TALKIN BOUT WILLIS!

3 Now I'm not defending any one here but haven't you complained about someone stealing your copy from an Ebay Ad? How many differrent ways are there to discribe an item? If some else has good copy why not use it?

Now then if a new kid were to show up with something that a different old kid had that didnt sell on Ebay previously were to list that same item yes I would think new kid and old kid were in fact the same person. An example of such an item would be say a Triumph Cycle as posted on another thread a few days ago. But all this is strictly a hypothetical situation now isnt it?

djw
I note you adjusted your originial post. I think the new one is VERY good.
While I have had no experience with the new kid I have sent him a question.
In his listings he has an item I mite be interested in. As the item has large freight chgs I asked him if I won it (Lordy I luv that I pay the most so I win yeah right) if I could pick it up from him and save the freight . I go thru Villa Park every day. Now then if I pay with a Credit Card.......

As I said in a previous post if you think you got the long end of a short pole
eye tink it only takes 3 people for a class action suit. Leastways I said that to a company that done me wrong. All of a sudden they came round to my way of thinkin.

If you think multiple people are conspiring to defraud you in an inter-state manner via the mails or other ways and if an internet marketing agency could be shown to allow "bad" sellers to change names at will. Possibly the RICO Act could be applied.

If a business in Illinois were to be selling vehicles cars, boats, motorcycles I think the must be registered with the Illinois Secratey of Sate. I would think any one selling lots of new parts MUST be a retailer. I would also think The
Secretary of State would be VERY interested in any one selling vechiles without the proper credintals. But what do I know I aint real smartand its time to go to bed.

Why do people even bother with E-bay? God knows there are plenty of reputable venders, and we've listed them all in the past. Buy your parts from them. Why enyone would risk buying anything from E-bay is beyond me.

Probably because there are some items that turn up that are hard to find with the usual vendors (one off, oddball parts, or NOS) and often priced decently.

Also there is reasonably good recourse when the payment transaction flows through the normal ebay channels (rather than outside or direct payments).

If you get stuck with a bad transaction directly with a vendor there is always the cc chargeback, but there are time limitations with that as well.

I must say that I've only had a couple of experiences with E-bay and they weren't good. I also was fortunate to have Don Hutchinson very close to my house and he had all the parts I needed for my TR6.

for them that be interested histylestuff responded that I could pic up the item from him if I won it. However I decided I really dont need an A10 bottom end. but there is always next time................

Quag

Alot of people buy on ebay cause they live in an area where Brit parts are hard to come by or cause they think they are getting "a good deal". You and I are lucky we live in areas where parts are available and people know their stuff. My Ebay purchases have all gone well.
I do, however prefer to purchase face to face and support my local good guy. as djw points out there are many ways to handle problems on EBay. I have found that by purchasing locally you have the same recourses mentioned and a few more.

Another observant member pointed out that histylestuff / blueskystuff slipped up and put the old blueskystuff phone number in the payment section of a new histylestuff auction. I guess there is no "guess" now, they are the same.

ok so he is the same guy (and was not the observent member on another forum) so now what are you gonna do? that sure looks like a CHICAGO cell phone number to me for what its worth.
I offered a number of suggestions you and other people could apply to bad Ebay sales and Illinois stores. you gonna follow up on any or just complain on this and other forums?
If you guys want the stuff to stop you are gonna have to take action. Of course I only mean of the legal type. Sure would not want to see anyone one hanging from a meat hook (Chicago style) or have an accident like Bufford Pusser (Mc Nary County Tn)Walkin Tall Part 3.
by the way you are in the DFW region of TX isnt there a good local dealer there?
