Now i don't want to get everyone excited, but i don't want to ask about what grade or type of oil i should use in my primary, rather how much should i put in, as i have just cleaned my sticky clutch plates, It's a 1979 T140E.
Thanks all.

Your primary is contiguous with your engine (crankcase). So you only use whatever oil is in your engine.

Hi Mecchanica.
Do you mean that the oil is supplied by the engine, or that i use the same oil that is in the motor?, if so how much?
Thanks.

Use whatever you are using in your engine. Drain primary from plug at back lower end of primary. Refill with 350cc of engine oil.

Everything will be alright in the end.
If its not alright, its not the end.

The primary on the '79 "breathes" and gets oil feed from the crankcase through the left main bearing and several tiny drillings in the common crankcase wall.

Half a cup of engine oil in the primary, to get things started, will do fine.

There isn't really much movement between the primary oil and the main crankcase, so I find it gets pretty crabby after about 500 miles.
