If I were you, I wouldn't goof w/ the primary. Besides, a belt won't fit in the case.

Hi Quag,

I think the old Harleys were a "total loss" oil system. The primary oiler may be the "vent" for the oil to scavenge the crankcase.

Jim your right. Every 400-700 miles or so , or when you see smoke comming out your pipes you ned to drain the crankcase of old oil and re-prime the system.

Actually, Quag,

If it's adjusted right, the system can be set to use the oil up as fast (slow?) as it's fed into the motor. I read about it many years ago, but I think I can explain it to you.

Bill I was going to call you today but I had 10 yards of mulch delivered and I had to spend the afternoon spreading that. Sad thing, it only covered 1/3 of what I have to cover.

The mass BIA is having a show in a few weeks, we should ride up to it. It's a nice ride up thru Milford and Northbridge.
