I am in need of new shocks. Is there any difference in the fit of exposed springs and covered spring? I currently have exposed springs and would like to have the ones with a cover. Also I would like to have a shorter shock. Using a yardstick, they measure 12 1/2 to 12 3/4 inches eye to eye.I would like an inch shorter. I'm on a low budget. Any suggestions on brand?

Hi Red, you should have 12.9" eye to eye. You can fit shorter ones BUT.................... this will affect the handling and also the tyre to fender clearance. Not sure what is on the market in the States, but I'll bet one of the other guys knows.
Roy.

NJB are available for about a hundred with the covers, I believe. The covers tend to squeak.

I only use Hagon's, they are now making them with stainless black and polished covers, perfect.
