I just got a spoke kit from British Cycle to find that it doesn't fit. They only carry them in 8 gage and not 10 gage (which is what the size was before.) Dose anyone know where to get 10 gage spokes or am I going to have to drill out my holes.

skech,
British Spares (www.britishspares.com) has 10G spokes in many sizes and types.

triumph went to stronger spokes on 78 triumphs as 76/77's
had the nasty habit of breaking the rear spokes.
the shop I worked at always used the later spokes when relacing. but do as you like drilling a rim isnt the most fun kinda like going to the dentist :-D

The original spokes were butted spokes, 8 guage where they install in the hub, and swaged down to 10 guage where they entered the rim. The nipples are 10 guage nipples with an od of .300". This gave the spokes more strength were they needed them, at the bend, and lighter weight in the straight run, near the periphery of the rim. Buchanan's makes SS spokes and you can also get alloy nipples, to reduce rotating mass.

All stop. That was for the non-oif. OIF, I believe were 9 guage non butted. Still, call Buchanan's Spoke and Rim, in California
