ok so now ive changed my mind to an even cheaper priced 1969 Tiger. Its supposed to be 90 percent restored and looks very nice. havent tried it yet...
if it runs is this a good price? how is this model in particular to own and maintain?

can't say without picture but the 69 tiger is a very good bike
the price can be fair but it depends of the money needed to have it very nice

I spent $1500 on my basket case and put about $5000 into it. If it runs and looks pretty good it's a good price. They are easy to work on and fun to ride.

LOL....too bad those aren't both BRG or I'd have a perfect matching set ;-)

I don't know why the side view pic of the TR-6 keeps coming out so squashed and blurry when I upload it to the albums....the original picture is crisp, has better color, and isn't squashed lengthwise.

The TR6R is in one way is easier to maintain since there's just one carb to mess with.

I think I recall that the single carb bikes had a couple more horses than the dual carb models too.

The factory claimed 43hp. for the TR6 and 47hp. for the Bonneville in 69. The torque comes on earlier with the single carb, the twin carb pulls better on the top end. You can get a compromise if you fit a nice new 32mm carb in place of the stock 30mm. Open up the inlet manifold to match.
