What are the symptoms of 'sticking valves'? What causes it?

i think the cause is a too tight fit in the guide which need to be reamed to allow the correct play.the symptoms can be a loss of compression on one cylinder and sometimes a twittering noise

Of course, they can only stick in the open position right, so they
will clatter like hell(as in too much value lash) They may also be
hitting the tops of the pistons. Again very noisy(and very serious).
What causes sticky values? Poor lubrication, improper installation
of new value guides, bent values, gored value stems cause by
improper lubrication, broken value springs.... Pick one..
