I know you had to have an old panhead somewhere. Take a 92" pan on a foggy San Francisco morning, S***. No wonder my knees pop and crackle every morning. Glad to hear about the sidestand. I've been starting mine with the sidestand down and left foot on the ground and then lifting my left foot and giving it a good wack. I think I'll modify that a skosh. Sold my torches. Amazing what you can learn on this blog.

when starting any old brit bike the first thing to do is turn on the fuel taps. It takes quite a while for the fuel to flow down. not doing this causes a temporary weak mixture which wont allow you bike to start first kick, because the float level will be low.

Sadly neither the electric start nor electronic ignition cures this problem.
