I have a 72 bonnevillle and I was wondering if anyone had a close up picture of the sidecover. I am trying to figure out where the sticker is located on the cover. I stripped the side covers the air box covers and the tank. They are primed and ready to basecoated and cleared this weekend. I planned on putting a base coat down a thin coat of clear place the sticker on then clear over the sticker.

first..does anyone have a picture.
second...has anyone cleared over the stickers before....did go pretty smooth?

Twlynch,

I had all my transfers covered in clear and it is very smooth. you can feel a very small bump over the decals, but nothing you would catch you fingernail on. I would recommend it.

Hey Tim-
Recently repainted a 73 850 Norton with new transfers and striping. Prepped metal, laid basecoat, applied transfers and striping and cleared over all. Worked very well. Laid urethane clear on pretty heavily, waited a couple of days, gave it the 800 grit tune-up and gave it a couple more coats of clear. Results were really good, and no worries about spilled fuel lifting striping or transfers.

Good luck on the Bonnie--Tiger gold--MMMmmmmm! :smug:

THANKS!.... I eyeballed it and put it on the side cover. Looks great!

I placed the sticker on the 4th basecoat and put 5 coats of clear on top it....looks spectacular!

Thanks!

Tim

If I knew how to put pics up on this page...I would! hehe
