Hi,
I've just bought a new wiring harness for my 77 bonnie.
It all looks good and the correct wires are there ok but there seems to be multiway plastic connectors (sockets) for the handlebar switches. My current switches use the old bullet
connectors.I'd like to keep the sockets and get new plugs
to go on my old switches as they seem really neat.
I've searched the web but can't find any like them ... does anyone
recognise them and know where I can get some matching plugs?
I have some pictures but I don't know how to attach them to this
forum .. maybe someone could advise me on that as well.

Cheers Steve

Thanks for that ... my VIN number is DX06840 I think it may
have older switches. Do you know how I can tell the year from
the VIN?
I've managed to download pictures of the connectors to the
following URL in case anyone else knows where I can get the
plugs :-

www.compunix.co.uk

Cheers Steve

Hi Kadutz,
I've managed to find someone who supplies the
connectors :-

http://www.sparxelectrical.com/index.html

They also do all sorts of replacement electrical items for Triumph's but they are UK based.
In my searching I also came across a supplier of OEM motorcycle connectors by Hitachi which are used on most Jap bikes:-

http://www.inter-bike.co.uk/inter-bi...categoryid=461

They are a lot cheaper than the ones by Sparx Electrical and as I'm replacing the loom I'm going to use these on the hard to get at bullet connectors .. I'm getting fed up with ripping out the wires!

As an aside my bike is definitely a T140V .. under slung rear brake,Mk1 carbs etc I did some research and the T140E's start at HX .. 1978 was the last year for the 140V and the first for the 140E .. still my bike is a year younger than I thought I've
just updated my details.

Thanks for your feedback ... all the best Steve

I was under the impression that the Lucas switchgear used on bikes of that era all had 'bullet' connectors. Is it not possible that yellowtrumpet has been supplied with a wiring harness for a 'Harris' Bonneville, didnt they have Italian switchgear?

Hi Kadutz,
I've just checked the engine and it's stamped
DX06840 as in the log book .. it's also stamped T140V
just above the VIN number on the main block.
It's also got the MK1 carbs and splayed ports
as I believe the T140E's had the MK2's and parallel ports.
I can only assume it was one of the last T140V's.

Happy new year !

Just to muddy the waters, my tiger is a 78 - vin AX..... &
has the underslung caliper and mk1 amal. Been rewired many years ago, but I'm sure it had block connectors originally.
