Oil Sensor Location? Valve Tap?

Ok...here it goes. I recently purchased a 1972 Bonneville, T120R. It is my first Triumph and I relatively new at this. So, bare with me. I am trying to locate the oil sensor sending unit? I have a T120R and any info would be great. Preferably a picture or a diagram. I looked through my Haynes manual, but I can't seem to find it.

By the way I have some distinct tapping in the engine...not to loud and is very consistent. Sounds sewing machine like. Call me nervous....is that alright?

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

The oil pressure switch should be on the front of the timing cover, below and in front of the points cover. It should have a rubber cover over it and a single white/red wire attached. It may have been replaced by a plug.
And it sounds like you have the normal sounds of a happy Triumph engine whirring and clicking away........enjoy.

Yer welcome.
With a Triumph, you worry when the valves STOP making a clicking noise.....then they are too tight and you burn them. The gear driven cams add a bit to the cacophony, but it's a nice mechanical machine-doing-it's machine-thing sound. The noise level depends on the distance between the centers of the crank, idler shaft, and cam bushes, some are tight and quiet, some are loose and noisy. Some are noisy because they are worn out. Just one of the things that give Triumphs an individual character.
