Does anyone know if the 1964 Bonnie's ever had chrome fenders? I think that the T120C's may have had them But I am not sure. You see I have got a T120RDU9626 and I am trying to put it back to original spec and the fenders don't jive. Also does anyone know what years cross over for the fenders on a 1964 Bonnie? some one told me that the fenders on the 1964 are unique but I can't see why they would be different from a 1965.

Cheers

The fenders for that bike (T120C) were made of alloy and painted. Rare items.
The R model were steel and painted as mentioned.

It appears that some early 64 models had steel front mudguards ,except some US T120C models, which had polished alloy.

Are they dimentionally the same, for example if I was trying to get them back to looking like the origionals could I sandblast off the chrome, prime and coat without raising suspicion?

Wish I could help, but I dont want to mislead you. The part nos. stayed the same from 64 to 66 for the front ( H1675 ) and from 64 to 67 for the rear ( F5984 ).
However, these nos.were for the T120's. There is no mention of the part nos. for the T120R's till 67. ( Front-H1997 and Rear-F6967)
In pictures they pretty much look the same in dimensions.
One thing to watch for is the length of the bracket that connects the fenders to the stays. There are at least two different lengths that I know of. This would affect how close the fender is to the wheel.
Hope this helps.

One type of stay was for all but the C and TT models, which had larger front tires.
The 64 T120C did have painted alloy guards, at least some did, or they were offered as an option.....was outbid on a NOS set on a famous auction site. Part of the Sandy Bandit's stash.

Looking at the parts book for my 70 T120R there are different part nos. for the T120R and TR6C but the description only says that one is painted and one is Stainless steel.
Again, from Bacon's book:
All models had revised mudguards for 1964.The touring models had the bridge changed for two pieces of bent strip which were bolted to the guard and whose lower ends attached to a T shaped bracket. This in turn was bolted to the fork leg. The sports models had their tubular stay and strip bridge modified so both ran to a point just ahead of the fork leg. There they bolted to a small flat plate on each side and these in turn located on and bolted to the fork leg.

The 1964 T120C TR6C and T120TT all had polished aluminum front mudguards not painted........Part# was H1697.
Rear mudguard Part# was F5955 also polished not painted.
The 1965 T120C TR6C and T120TT were the same condition.
There were rivisions for the parts books sent to us dealers listing additions to our parts books for 1964 and 1965 ..
