Come on guys, dont tell me you dont know the answer,
it seems I may have to answer my own queston. lets make it easy: How do you adjust the float hight of the remote or seperate float chamber when you have one float bowl suppling two carb's. on the triumph bonneville?

Surely someone must know??????

Bushy.

I'd venture a guess that the level should be just below the lip of the bowl. Maybe 1/4".

Startt with a dry float bowl. Should be that it takes about 2 seconds to get a dribble on the tickler. Any quicker and you are too high, any longer and you are too low. If it dribbles as soon as you touch the tickler, it's too high.

One thing for sure, if you start running it out with the level too low, you are going to go lean and risk burning a hole in one or both pistons.

DISCLAIMER: This is totally un-scientific, and not from any reference book, so attempt at your own risk.

6 BOOKS & NO ANSWERS,

This is difficult to describe,
The initial setting height of the bonneville float chamber is with the top face of the float chamber 1 1/16 in (3.34cm) above the central "pip" on the carb side covers. This may require adjustment & should be altered 1/16 in (1.6mm) at a time & the result tested. A low setting will cause starvation & loss of power & a high setting will cause"lumpy" running with erratic tickover.
This is all done by using a 6mm clear plastic tube filled with water, on the outter face of the carb there is a central pip which is hardly noticeable, that is the starting level, that level is tranfered to the float by the water level tube, the top face of float chamber is adjusted 33.4 mm above that level from the center or central pip on the carb.

All I know is, if you go SLOWLY, STEP-BY-STEP, according to the book, it will work.

GPZ,
I have read several books looking for the answer & only found a brief description, so any one looking for the answer that is it, the strange thing is that the 5T, T100, TR5, TR6, T110, & 1959 Bonne was fitted with amal bloc 376 carbs, only the 59 bonne to the best of my knowledge had the remote float. I wonder why? Speed maybe!
bushy.
