I'm sure you can. Contact a "parts Supplier". Many recommended on this site, but NOT the one in Chicago!

I haven't found a way yet without removing the aluminum housing and side covers and relocating the zenor diode. Then you have to fashion side plates to cover the battery, etc. What I want to accomplish is replace the leaky setup that came stock. I'd prefer a filter that would attach to the carbs and fit inside the existing boxes. Maybe someday. If you find a way let us know. I tried some 4" round foam filters, but there wasn't enough clearance between carb. and frame. Side covers wouldn't refit either. May be I'll buy a dirt bike. The filters weren't cheap. Oh well. Luck in your endeavor. PS:Born on haight street, raised in the Sunset district. Went to Poly. Something in common besides scooters .

It's pretty easy really...

Just cut out the area you want it to fit in the plastic air covers. I was running mine like that and if you need a pic....

Not to bad. Are those filters flat on the frame side ? Do your carbs just hang from the rubber manifolds or did you fashion a brace? I imagine you insulated the frame, so as not to have them banging. :???:

The filters are offset and do not hit anything.... I think they are the K&N offset pancake filters.

Those carbs (mikuni's) are not on the bike anymore and went back to the Amal's and will have the same type filters but for 60's models since I have the retro side covers now.

Yeah... the carbs hung there but are not as delicate as they appear... they are stout.

Before you cut into your sidecovers, be aware that you can get any number of gauze/screen (K&N type) and/or foam type filters that will slip right in place with no mods whatsoever.

They come in every size, shape & offset to accommodate pretty much every situation.

Man, if anybody finds an air filter of any kind, that will fit inside a T-140 airbox, I'll be eternally grateful. And thats a long time

Do this... Retro style airbox kit.

'spensive?... YES 'bout $150 not to mention the filters. I got a deal but you would have to go through the stress the A-holes give ya.

I am still waiting on my air filters from that Chicago outfit....

Other places sell them but are higher.....
