I’m trying to fit a 1967 side panel to my 66 TR6 and can’t for the life of me see how I’m going to do it. Apart from the fact it has only one hole and my frame has two lugs I can’t see what else I’ll have to do to make it fit. Can someone post a photo of a 1966 side panel so I can compare it to mine as my parts manual doesn’t show the reverse side with the fitments etc. Any thoughts and help here appreciated.

(I've yet to remove my wheel, I'll get back to you regarding the speedo problem thanks guys)

If I remember correctly, the '66 side panel (opposite side from the oil tank, correct?), had the ignition switch and light switch mounted in it. If your side panel doesn't have these, and has a "pocket" for the tool kit, it won't fit.

Hope this helps a bit: Jim

Yes panel opposite side from the oil tank is correct, You are right that the origional had the ignition switch and light switch mounted in it. The new one I have is a 67 I am told and has one switch hole in it although I can't see what would be a "pocket" for the tool kit. I'd love to see a proper 66 to see what the mounts looked like. Thanks for your help anyway!

Hi, Capt.

What I called a "pocker" is an area for the tool kit to fit into; something like a shelf with an enclosure to keep the kit from falling into the battery. I guess the word compartment would be better. It goes the length of the cover, just about midway down. The tool kit would just drop into it lengthwise.

If yours had one hole, it probably doesn't have provisions for a tool kit: Jim
