Just got back from a road trip on my 77 Bonneville. Road from Olympia, Wa to Piercy California, about 1200 miles. My Triumph is not that pretty (yet), but all the Harley riders were continually checking out my bike. 90% of the comments were " You RODE that down from Washington". It rode pretty nice, gets the wobbles at around 80 though. Great party though, wild times! Although not a very big Brit bike presence, would be nice to see more out there.

The only thing that sucked was the trip home, it was cold and raining from eureka all the way bak to Oly!

Here is a link to some pics:

Yes, I hate riding in the rain also. Did you have any kind of windshield? Good post, gives hope to other owners of old bikes. My nephew, Calif. #1 Harley freak makes that one every year. Glad you got back safely

Nope no windshield, after a while your face will get numb from the stinging rain. THe worst is the fog. It is so hard to negotiate corners.

S--- man, you'e hardcore or young or both. Got caught in a few frog chokers myself on my Lowrider days with out a shield, but never that far. Being from San Fran and Pacifica I know the fog. Glad we don't get it here. Enough with thunderstorms and hale. I'm glad you got home safely, Angel on your shouder, for sure.

Nope, just don't have enough sense to come in out of the rain.
