I need to get a charging issue sorted, retorque, and fix a slipping clutch. There was a good guy in Costa Mesa, but he apparently has packed up shop.

Thanks

ummm.... what is John's shop on 17th st, in Costa Mesa?

I had not heard that one, yet.

I personally, can't recommend any mechanic, as I lucky enough, or crazy enough, to do my own work.

Is there any reason why you couldn't do some of the repairs, like the charging issue, yourself? Of coarse, with a good service manual and help from others on this site.
Not only will you save a few $$, but you'll learn more about your bike.

BTW,

I've used Moore's Cycle in Anaheim, for parts and advice. Good guy.

If you're in the LA area you could try British Motorbikes of North Hollywood (818)506-4022. They restore/sell vintage Triumphs, Nortons and BSAs. One of the people they use (and recommended to me) is Gary Swan from Toad Town Racing in Mission Hills. He does work on my 73 TR7RV. He'll be on vacation for the next 3 weeks though. His number is (818) 891-0330.

Thanks a lot guys. I may end up going at it myself. Its just very hard to find the time. And I'd hate to mess things up

My father and I go to Moore's - good people
