Since you're into XS 650s and hardtails, thought I'd show you mine...

It's along farther than in this picture now, I hope to break it down for paint/powdercoat soon, as it's only getting hotter in the garage. I'm thinking gold flake frame and flat blue/black tank and fenders...

I dont really understand the question similarities?
There are big bore kits available for Yamaha XS650's
I know a "750" kit was available and a 850 probably was.
Like DAGAD I dont understand why the question on a Triumph forum.
Understand that I put over 40,000 miles on a 79 XS650F
Standard model between 79 & 82.

yup
got the bike in march 79 to much snow in driveway to get to garage so pulled bike into living room.
pulled back out in mid april 79
ran as a solo for two years then in summer of 81 we put a sidecar on bike. ran that for a year till we broke the rear wheel.
still got the bike no one wanted a 3 year old bike with that many miles. now its an antique like me

big bore kits are (have been) available for the 650 Triumphs
both "750" and "850" kits
750 kits are drop ons (still available)
850 kits required machining of cases (not sure if still made)
does that answer question?
