Hello again , Thanks for the replies to my 6T ID dilemma. Again I have another issue concerning my bikes ID. This concerns the engine number. Whilst I fully appreciate a thunder bird having the suffix 6T DU followed by five numerals. I am at a loss to reason. That on my engine after the five numbers, there is a letter W. Could anybody shed any light on why this is so?. Thanks once again

Yes, Reptile........ you have a 6TW. This is an ex Police bike and the 'W' is for wireless. Before the TR6P SAINT started in 1967, the 6TW was the SAINT.
Depending which Police force it was supplied to, the specification was different.
What are the letters from the registration number? The last two will give the area in which it was registered ie. Nottingham could be *TO, *TV, *RR, *RC etc. Let me know and I'll check up for you.
Roy.

Thank you Dagad for your informed response. I only wish I could contact you directly by private email. As I would dearly like to disclose a fuller picture of my bike. But I have posted less than ten postings so the system wont give me your email address. The more clarification you divulge makes me realize that I have been well and truly sold down the river. Concerning the acquisition of said bike.

Regards Reptile
