I have a 1970 T120

Should the rear brake cam (and spring) be level with the wheel spindle adjusters? when I pull the wheel back, they foul on the cam and I cannot get the wheel far enough back

I am wondering whether the brake torque arm is the wrong length

This is driveing me crazy!

Thanks

Hi Dorking,

Yeah, the adjusters on my '70 are just touching the return spring on the arm. Of course, they stay the same throughout the adjustments. It does seem a bit odd, but that's the way it is.

Just the wisdom of a fool speaking: Jim

I noticed the same thing on mine. Just FYI, I was at Don Hutchinson's this past wednesday and he has a 1968 or 69 T120. This bike was bought new by a local restaurant owner and never touched by a wrench after it left Meriden. I looked at the rear wheel because I had the same question and that bike looked just like you described on yours.

If the one you are talking bout was never touched by a wrench after it left the UK. We now have the answer to where the oil on the floor came from :yayyy:

That 3/4" alignment problem is going to unrest your mind again, I think
