Anyone know the correct #s for adjustments on intake and exhaust for a 1972 T-120 Bonnie?
Thanks! Mike

Clearance for the exhaust should be .004 in and the inlet should be.002 with the engine cold.

0.002" as stated but it is important not to do it TIGHT. Better it be 0.003" than 0.001". You need to make sure the valve is actually closing.

Someone told me you may have added an electric start to your Triumph. I see that you are an engineer also. Was this something you created? Wondering if I could get something like this for a custom bike.

Thanks,
Roy

Thanks guys, It was something I saw on a picture from Bob Oswald at QPD inc. Bob converted his T140V to belt drive primary AND belt to the rear wheel. After that he made an electric start arrangement and fitted that as well.
This got me thinking and with Bobs' help, I did a permenant conversion to my TR6P where Bobs' conversion was a 'fabrication in frame', but is still sucsessfull. So I cannot claim it was my idea, but I still think it unique.
Bob supplied me the starter ring and I machined it to fit the belt drive I had already.
we are going a lot off topic here, if there is enough interest, I can post the articles I did for the TOMCC magazine Nacelle.
Roy.

Roy,

Would love to have more information on how you did it.
The bike I am interested in doing this to is a customized 70 Bonnie. You can email me also at RoyRJohnson@hotmail.com. Would love to send pictures of the project bike and see what you think. Of course, it's a custom job so I'm sure you would cringe.
Many thanks from the other side of the big pond....Roy

Will come back to you on that, Roy. Triumphs are Triumphs, stock, custom, race............ it's just a love / hate relationship sometimes
