Since we're on the topic of our beloved Trumpets & pop culture... how about "The Great Escape" where Steve McQueen hi-jacks a German patrol bike to make his escape. The problem was... no way Steve was going to try to jump some ancient Beemer... so a Triumph was painted olive drab & the director just hoped no one would notice... the Nazi scooter was British!!

I can't remember anything about it, but there was a TV show with a construction boss I believe, who rode a Triumph. Anybody remember anything like that? It seems like the actor's last name was Guinn or Quinn or something like that. I've been trying to snap to that show for months. :???:

I remember "Billy Jack" riding a Triumph.
What was that Eastwood movie with the bike chase??
Was it "Coogan's Bluff"???
Nice Trumps in that one too.

Triumphs were also in

Shampoo (ridden by warren beatty)

Bullitt (if I member it got wrecked in the chase scene)

Peggy Sue Got Married

Grease 2(I tink)

A Close Shave(or at least one of the Wallace and Gromit movies)

most of the Beach Blanket Bingo type movies(the original Rat Pack)

The Wild One ( that one was the star of the movie)

Everyone have a great Easter and may the Easter Frog bring you every thing you want

I tried to include this with my initial posting & it didn't work.
Here is an image of a die-cast replica of the McQueen /Great Escape bike... http://gulfcoastrentals.com/images/triumph/mcqueen.htm

I'm having trouble attaching images to these postings... any tips would be appreciated.

The movie "Mischief" was filmed in a small city here in Ohio. It was a 50's setting. The cool Triumph actually was (I believe) a 69, but mocked up well to look 50s.

A must see for Triumph buffs
