Another thread got me thinking:

1. I've used used triumph parts for rally trophies [heaps of times]. Mounted on a nice piece of wood or marble and a plaque etc

2. I've used used triumph parts to make tools, locking clutch plates, fork tubes for hollow drifts etc

3. I used a used fork tube to extend my swivelling bar stool so it was high enough for my shed work bench.

4. I welded a tiger cub fork tube into a tomahawk for a handle.

5. And I've used a '78 teardrop tank for a mailbox [still got it, still happening, getting painted now]. I brought it at a swap meet, it was stoved in on one side, but the other side was OK.

I've used a tank badge on a belt buckle, I made a curved backing plate with latch and swivel and tapped holes in it, had it powder coated gloss black and then mounted the badge on it, its one of my favourites [I only ever had the one badge it was in a box of bits that came with another bike].

All these parts are used or or un-reuseable on a bike.
I'm not advocating wholesale pilfering of rare original parts.
Any other fellow lateral thinkers out there???

Once someone buys parts or a vechile what they do with those items is there business. If I or you dont like it we can do nothing Be it a 40 Ford or a 59 bonnie for chopping as they own the item. I made a clock (over 20 years ago )
from a NOS Triumph/Johnson Motors Timing Disc. If any one doesnt like it not my problem! I also have a clock made from a junk 650 primay cover( purchased for me by my wife). I have some JUNK carbs I may turn into book ends. Iguess I think as lateraly as you do.

That is if I ever meet you with your tomahawk I will be VERY polite to you.

The line comes from the song "I come from a land downunder" by Men At Work. Became widely known when Australia won the America's Cup back in early 80's.

Chunder = spew, chuck, technicolour yawn, vomit, etc.
