Here goes, after rebuilding the clutch and gearbox I found that my kick starter will not turn under load. It turns the gearbox and the clutch inner drum fine as long as the gearbox outer cover is off and the plates are taken out. The minute the gearbox cover is on or the clutch is assembled it locks up. I have checked the spring mechanism and it works fine. I know that either the cover or the assembled clutch locks it up as I scotched the clutch to check it with the outer cover off and it locked up as well. Suffice it to say the crank turns fine on its own. I know I will have to get back into the gearbox, but I am looking for any suggestions before I do. Thanks, Hank

Yep, something is amiss in the gearbox. Maybe one of the little fork rollers dropped out (easy to do).

That is a real fun deal, getting that cluster back in "just right" innit?

Yep, thanks GPZ. I figured I'd have to get in there. No prob, I'll take er' apart this weekend. After dealing with the twenty roller bearings everything else seems easy. I don't know what I'll do once I get it all together. Suppose I'll start on my RD350 basket case. Cheers, Joel. PS I just realized to get in there again, I'll have to go through the rollerbearings again.

HankQ,
There are no loose fork rollers to fall out of place. The rollers on the forks on a T100 have a small washer on them and are staked in place. However you might have the forks switched. You could also have the kick starter spring plate in the wrong position or maybe the brass washer in the case is trapped on the locating peg. These things should not have anything to do with the clutch plates.

Hey GrandPaulZ
The rollers ol the forks on T100 do not fall off easily.
Also it is not difficult to lnstall the gear cluster in a T100 case.
Unless you have never done one . They and the B.S.A.are very easy to install since they are assembeled on the becch then are installed in the case.

Lutz, I am positive the forks are in the right posistion, I double checked them before. I'll double check the washer and the spring plate. I only mention the clutch plates to illustarte what the starter does under and not under load. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know how it goes, Hnak.

I was thinking Bonneville...

My BSA 441 was a breeze in comparison!
