Have any readers had better luck with Leak Proof Fork Seals over the orignial OEM seals?
http://www.britcycle.com/Products/le...fork_seals.htm
I have a '71 OIF 650 Tiger and despite correct installation and good surfaces on my tubes, the brand new OEM seals leaked as soon as I went for my first ride after fitting them.
I'm even thinking about talking to a bearing supplier about double lipped oil seals for bearings that might be able to do a better job but if the leak proof brand come recommended I'd be prepared to try them first?

I strongly recommend using Leak Proof seals but be sure to use the retainer from a later model T140. Part # 97-7016
especially on 1971 and 1972 models .Do not use the retainer furnished with the seals because they do not fit tight and will come loose and the seal will come out of the slider.

Thanks for the feedback Lutz. Nothing like a personal recommendation for aftermarket parts used by fellow riders. Now all I have to do is sort out my anotomical seat padding issue and I guess I'll find utopia.....
