I have a 1970 Triumph Trophy that I got years ago as a "basket case" I'm looking for a wiring diagram and a compatible electronic ignition.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Your best bet would be to get a parts and repair manual (factory copies) from one of the many British suppliers. Hutchinson Cycles in Wakefield MA has them. They are invaluable.

Good luck with it: Jim

If you have a fax number I will fax you a copy of the wiring diagram for a 70. Is your bike a TR6 os aTR6C?
As far as the ignition Boyer's are decent. I run points in my bikes except for my T140E and T140D that came with factory elec ign.
Also note if you are using a NOS Lucas loom there may be wires in the loom not shown in the diagram. turn signals weren't used in the US until '71 yet the correct wires were in the loom.
One question how did you get this far without some kind of a shop manual? Every one I have has a wiring digram.

if you need to buy bits for your ignition system, you might want to consider this method...
keep to the original points and install the bmw system of a twin output coil. connected to one set ( do not connect the other set )
that way easier to time both cylinders exactly the same. if the points fail . Connect to the other set of points, although usually they fail slowly enough for you to not be needing roadside repair.
you can also get very cheap points based capacitor discharge system they use very little points current and can therefore expect 25k+ miles per set . the big thing here is, if the electronics fail, you can just change 3 spade connectors and run without. if the points fail, change one spade connector over. if u want more details email me or ask here.
