Much as I love Meriden Bonnevilles, a Hinckley one is likely to work out much cheaper in the long run and you will get to ride it more.

Call Dad and get the details on his rebuild. He probably spent more than the $4000 asking price. Ride the bike. A bike like this is all about provenance. They can be better than new; or a mis-matched collection of parts. Whether you buy it or not, you'll have a better informed opinion. Bob
