It was loaned to me by my father, and he doesn't even know. Any supplementary or just interesting information would be appreciated too.

Year

looks like a late-70s Meriden era Bonnie, as I don't think they made the 750 until late on in triumphs life. You could probably go to one of the vintage triumph owners club websites and find out more about it if you have the engine and chassis number

Assuming that the frame and engine are original, it looks to me like a 1974 T140 Bonneville.

That makes sense for those stamped numbers.

T140
VEH32487

@lobout: I thought this forum was a vintage Triumph forum?

T140V is the model: Bonneville. (T was 'triumph', I think; 140 was an outgrowth of earlier systems of listing top-speeds, which started with more realistic T90 and T100, I think, and 'V' meant 5-speed, when there was still an option of getting a 4-speed gearbox in '71 or maybe '72.)

EH means it was built in May (E) of 1973 (H), per the table listed in the service manuals. I don't know if they were already doing '74 model year designs in May; someone else will have more knowledge, but I would have assumed it was a 1973. Check the engine number to see if it matches - it should be stamped into the cases just below the cylinders on the left-hand side.

It's a nice-looking bike. Cheers to whoever put those fuel filters on there.

Without seeing the numbers I would have assumed 1973 T140V.

Ten bolt head with six hole inspection caps, front disk brake and right side shift.

The 1974 models were the same thing, but few of them were produced because of the workers 'sit-in' that year.

The 1975 models had left side shift.

The 1972 models had four hole inspection plates and front drum brakes.

Of course all this was forty years ago and anyone could have changed anything in that time, so you go back to the numbers. If your father owns it, wouldn't he have the title mentioning this?

Thanks for y'all's answers, and, no, my dad does not have a title. He's going to have to buy a bond and get a new title.
