Jesus--
If you are considering repairing them yourself, there is some guidance available. There is at least one book on the subject, and a a couple of web sites. Also, here is a link to my web page that describes how I rebuilt mine:

Instrument Repairs.
Realising you are quite far away and all that! But, had both instruments overhauled at the following-
E Parrott & Son Ltd
218 Barbadoes Street
Christchurch 8011
New Zealand
Email-parrotts@ihug.co.nz
These Folk have been in the game for as long as I can remember and a lot of their work is recieved from off shore. My units were in pieces when delivered to Parrots with scored faces and very worn frames and a broken glass. All up $NZ149.50. Very pleased with their work.

Hey, Paul. Yeah, it's been my motto for a long time. There isn't much that can't be built or fixed--it's just a matter of whether it's worth it or not. And "worth it" can be a squishy concept!

Hola Jesus...Here in the states I have had Nisonger Instruments in New York work on my clocks and I have been very satisfied. Now they are a little pricey but they stand behind there work 100%.
On a another topic I lived in Caracas for 6 years and travelled all over your beautiful country. I last lived in Chacao until I closed my apartment 4 years ago. Perhaps you have friends that travel to the states as I am aware many people from Venezuela have family in Miami and New York and they could get them to the states if you used Nisonger.
I miss Venezuela and I still have many friends there...of course I miss the ladies the most. Venezuela undoubtably has the most beautiful women in the world...Que Rico!!!!
Ciao,
Bob

Hi bob, yes venezuelan womens are the best, i think I am going to send it to us or buy a rebuild ones I am bidding on a pair in eBay and the rebuild too so I am in negotiation because repair them myself I think it's not a good idea, but the prices are too high and we have currency control, I think that's the name ,we can't buy us dollars, just a small amount so pay 500$ for the restoration it's excessive for me, I keep searching some fair price, thank you all for your advices
