Thats not very good, he got them to work in the end but had to drill out a bit that wasnt drilled !There seems to be a debate as to where they are realy made,if its india then half will be good and half rubbish.iv been messin a bit with jap carbs and i have to say it there bloody good,iv never used to like the look of them on brit bikes but i think maybe round slide mikunis wouldnt be bad? anyone tried them on a brit?
Anything from Wassel is hit & miss at best imho. The new Amal 'Premier' MKI concentrics are a lot better made than the older ones (and therefore miles better than Wassel's substitutes). They aren't a huge amount more money either.
Jap carbs are ugly, no question about it. But there's also no question that they are very good...

OK then, the answer to the first part is Yes, loads of people. The answer to the second part is they're unlikely to be any good because Wassel stuff never has been, so why should it change now!
What are the actual differences between Wassel and Amal's new carbs in terms of features? (i.e., removable pilot jet, adjustable float, upgraded slide options, parts availability etc)?
