I had the same problem for a different reason - Locktite, took three days to get it loose enough to come out, drilling the washer was the only way I could get mine out.
I had to start with a drill bit that cuts ceramic / glass just to get a hole started, then went to COBALT drill bits, that did the trick, was then able to get a small bolt into the drilled hole and pull it straight out.
