Hi there.
I own a '71 T100 that has a slight slip in 2nd & 3rd gears, which I would like to cure. The clutch is apart now and the plan is to de-glaze the fibre portion of the clutch plates and to possibly bead blast the all metal plates to promote better friction. On top of this will go new clutch springs. The question would be, is bead blasting the all metal plates adviseable, or do I run the risk of creating a grabby clutch which might be prone to drag? I've tried tightening the old springs another turn in the past which did cure the slip but resulted in a notchiness in the clutch actuation (a click could be felt every time you actuated the clutch - I hear this is common). Give me your thoughts before I dive in. Thanks Jack
