Hi. Welcome to the site. We have an issue with the way the front page is set up and it tends to give folks the impression that this section is for question. It actually for just tips and tricks for working on the bikes.
You should go back to the Classic, Vintage & Veteran main page and scroll down a bit more until you see the following in blue font.

Worth checking float levels. Has your bike got standard air filters? Standard silencers? If no air filters and louder silencers, this will call for a richer mixture - have you tried just screwing in the pilot air screw another half a turn or so? Its also wrth bearing in mind that each cylinder doesn't necessarily need identical mixture settings - I've had bikes that I've ended up with very different pilot air screw settings in order to get running right, eg: one turn out on one pot, 2 1/2 turns out on the other. If it runs well once going it must only be a minor idle mixture issue.
Mr. Tucker, I was always told to run a Bonnie with the two petrol taps open. Because the one carb is connected to the other by pipe. If one tap is open the petrol fills the nearest carb first therefore one cylinder will run slightly weaker especially at speed...G.
